Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Maidan mobile application and the website at maidan-app.com. They are the contract between you and us. By creating a Maidan account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Maidan.
01The service
Maidan is a futsal matchmaking, live-scoring, court-booking, and stats platform for Afghanistan. The service lets you create a player profile, join or run a team, organise matches with other teams, record match events in real time, reserve courts at participating venues, and accumulate a career profile across matches.
02Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Maidan. If you are under 18, you may only use Maidan with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current information when you register and keep it up to date.
- Use only your own phone number for OTP authentication and keep your device secure.
- Notify us immediately at hello@maidan-app.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
03Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Impersonate another person, team, or venue, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, defame, or discriminate against another user, team, referee, venue staff, or community scorer.
- Submit false match results, falsify stats, or otherwise pollute the integrity of the leaderboards.
- No-show against a confirmed challenge or booking without reasonable notice.
- Upload content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes another person’s rights.
- Scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract data from Maidan in bulk other than through tools we explicitly provide.
- Interfere with, overload, or attack the service or the accounts of other users.
- Use Maidan for any unlawful activity or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
We may, at our discretion, remove content, suspend a feature, or terminate an account that we reasonably believe is engaged in the above.
04Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit to Maidan — your profile photo, team name and crest, match notes, comments, and any other user content (“Your Content”).
You grant Maidan a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content solely as needed to operate, promote, and improve the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content has been shared with other users (a match record visible to your opponents) or where we are legally required to retain it.
You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit Your Content and that doing so does not violate any third party’s rights.
05Match data and stats
Maidan’s live scoring is community-driven. Goals, fouls, cards, and other events are recorded by community scorers, captains, or designated players. We do our best to provide tooling that makes the record accurate, but:
- Match events may contain errors. The community scoring system allows disputes and corrections within a defined window.
- Final stats are taken from the official match record as ratified by both team captains. Once ratified, changes require both captains’ consent or a Maidan administrator review.
- Leaderboards, MOTM, hat-trick, and career stats are derived from match data and update automatically as new matches are recorded.
Maidan does not act as a referee or sporting authority. We do not adjudicate on-pitch incidents.
06Court bookings
When you reserve a court through Maidan, the booking contract is between you and the venue. Maidan is a facilitator. We transmit your booking details to the venue and the venue’s response to you, but we are not party to the booking itself.
- Prices, surfaces, availability, and venue policies (deposits, cancellation, dress code, footwear) are set by the venue and shown in the venue’s listing.
- Disputes about a booking — late cancellations, lockouts, court conditions, refunds — should be resolved with the venue directly in the first instance. We are happy to help mediate in good faith.
- Repeated no-shows or abuse of the booking system may result in restrictions on your account.
07Tournaments
Where tournaments are available, the tournament organiser (venue owner or admin) sets the format, fixtures, rules, fees, and prize structure. Maidan provides the tooling — registration, brackets, live scoring, standings — but is not the organiser unless explicitly stated. Disputes about a tournament should be resolved with the organiser first.
08Fees and payments
At launch, the core Maidan app — matchmaking, live scoring, stats, basic court discovery — is free for players to use. Some optional features may be priced in the future; if so, those prices will be shown clearly in the app before you commit. Court reservation fees and any tournament entry fees are set and collected by the venue or organiser, not by Maidan, unless the app explicitly handles payment.
09Sport-related risk
Futsal is a contact sport played on hard surfaces. Playing in a match — whether arranged through Maidan or otherwise — carries an inherent risk of injury. Maidan does not vet venues for safety, inspect court surfaces, certify referees, or arrange insurance. You play at your own risk, and you are responsible for ensuring you are physically fit to play and that the venue meets your safety expectations before stepping on the pitch.
10Service availability
We aim to keep Maidan available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or for reasons outside our control (network outage, force majeure). We may also change or discontinue features over time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes when we can.
11Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Maidan is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of stats and records, or uninterrupted service.
12Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Maidan and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for direct damages arising from these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Maidan in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD 100.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
13Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maidan and its team from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your infringement of any third party’s rights.
14Suspension and termination
You may stop using Maidan at any time and delete your account from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, abused the service, or used Maidan in a way that puts other users at risk. Where the breach is minor and remediable, we will try to warn you before terminating.
15Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms or the service will be resolved in the competent courts of Kabul, unless mandatory law in your country of residence gives you a right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
Before initiating any formal proceeding, please write to hello@maidan-app.com so we have a chance to resolve the matter directly.
16Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give you notice in the app or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Maidan after the effective date means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, you should delete your account before the change takes effect.
17Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Maidan and supersede any earlier agreements about the service.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganisation.
